Description:
These colonies consist of a fixed number of cells, forming flat and circular shapes. The individual cell bodies have a polygonal shape and are adorned with horn-like projections. The cell walls can vary in texture, appearing granulated, wrinkled, or notched. The chloroplasts within these cells are either plate-like or reticular in structure. Reproduction occurs asexually through the formation of zoospores, while sexual reproduction involves isogametes.
