Description:
The cell has an elongated and cylindrical shape with long, spiny projections at both ends. Its cell body measures between 16 to 40 micrometers in length and 8 to 15 micrometers in width, while the spines extend to 15-30 micrometers in length. The cell wall is divided into two sections that overlap in the middle region. Multiple plate-like chloroplasts are found in the cell, and notably, they lack pyrenoids.
