Description:
Highly silicified cells create curved or spiraling chains, linked by adhesive pads located at the ends of elevated structures (horns). These cells contain numerous small chloroplasts and can also exist individually. Cell dimensions range from 15 to 110 micrometers in width along the apical axis.
