Scientific Name: Thalassiosira gravida Cleve, 1896
Local/Bangla Name: Not Known
- Not Known - Thalassiosira gravida - Type: Phytoplankton

Classification:
Kingdom: Chromista
Phylum: Bacillariophyta
Class: Bacillariophyceae
Order: Thalassiosirales
Family: Thalassiosiraceae
Description:
The cells have a flat, disk-like shape with slightly rounded corners, and they are loosely joined together in chains of varying lengths. In water mounts, the connecting thread between cells appears as a single thread that becomes thicker as it reaches the valve surface. This thread is composed of multiple individual central strutted processes, which can be seen in valve view through electron micrographs. The valve face also displays radial ribs, and numerous additional strutted processes with varying numbers of satellite pores are distributed across the valve surface. Furthermore, one labiate process is visible.
