Description:
These cells are elongated and can be either straight or slightly curved. They feature a spine-like projection at one of their ends. These cells can exist individually or in short chains. The valves they possess are conical or somewhat conical in shape. They exhibit segmented girdle bands arranged in vertical columns. Additionally, these cells contain a multitude of small chloroplasts.
