Description:
The lorica of this organism consists of both dorsal and ventral plates, which are moderately flattened dorso-ventrally, providing a firm structure. The lorica surface is stippled, ranging from light to heavy, and the dorsal plate exhibits a pattern of ridges that can vary from strong to very weak. It features two short antero-dorsal median spines. In some cases, intermediate and lateral spines may be absent or, if present, are strongly reduced. The antero-ventral margin displays a weak undulating pattern and is somewhat elevated towards the middle, featuring a median sinus. There are no posterior spines, and the posterior end is typically broadly rounded, occasionally displaying weak lateral postero-lateral edges that may be angular. The ventral part of the foot opening is characterized by its large size, with margins that can be either parallel or convergent, often accompanied by short and blunt lateral projections. The trophi exhibit all the characteristics of the genus. This species is polymorphic, displaying various forms or structures.
