The body is flattened, firm, flesh-like, elongated, and takes on a tongue-shaped form, with a smooth surface, and a rounded and blunt upper end. In its living state, it appears as a pale greenish-gray color. There is a single, very small osculum that leads to a central cavity, which is nearly indistinguishable. The ostias are limited to the upper three-quarters of the sponge’s surface area. The anchors of the anatriaenes are located in the lower region, with long rays projecting upwards. Small radiating rays from the protriaenes are found in the surface region of the upper part, while long oxeas are distributed throughout the entire sponge. There are no microscleres present.
