The suborbital tooth (a small projection on the side of the crab’s carapace) is pointed and has a strong keel (a ridge) running from the tip to the base. The third and fourth pereiopods (walking legs) do not have any hairs on the lower border. The fifth pereiopods (walking legs) do not have a linear fringe of hairs on the upper margin of the propodus (palm). The male abdomen has a sixth segment that is shorter than the fifth segment.
