The shell is small, always having a length that is less than three times its width, and it consists of 10 rounded whorls. The nodules on it come in different sizes, and there may be one or more varices present on the whorls. The aperture is oval-shaped, with a columella bearing a slight callus, and the outer lip is thick. The anterior canal is short, narrow, and slightly curved outward, while the anal canal is deeply indented. The anterior siphonal canal is very short, narrow, and also deeply indented. The shell’s external coloration varies but often appears pale gray or cream with dark brown or black granules. The aperture has whitish margins in mature specimens and is spirally banded with black on the inside.
