Description:
Shell large, solid, moderately high spire, deep suture. Aperture wide, outer lip thick, wavy or fluted.Lower part of the columella twisted, with a parietal callus partly covering the umbilicus. Sculptured with a number of raised, rounded ribs. Color: Outer surface creamy, ribs white with large squarish brown spots. Columella is white and shiny. Size: Average shell length, average shell width, average aperture length, average aperture width is respectively 105mm, 75mm, 90mm, 50mm.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Sonadia island in Cox’s Bazar, the Sundarbans coast and in the deep sea parts of the Bay of Bengal
