Synaptula recta takes on a worm-like appearance, characterized by a slender and translucent body covering. Its typical coloration is a pale yellowish-brown. It has 15 tentacles.The calcareous ring has a large opening at the front end, and the interradial piece exhibits conical projections. The spicules include anchors with two flukes of equal size, and the oval-shaped anchor plates are symmetrical. The wider anterior end of the plates features 6 large evenly-sized toothed holes, while the posterior end has 3 small holes, with the central one being the largest. Miliary granules are also present.
