Description:
he shell is medium-sized, thin, compressed, and transversely elongate. The umbones are located anteriorly and they are eroded. The ventral margin is broadly convex. The outer surface is smoothish (slightly rough), except for the fine concentric growth marks and the radial band anterolaterally. The interior is smooth, with well-developed muscle scars, elongate anteriorly and oval posteriorly The blade-like cardinal teeth are fragile. The pallial sinus is well developed, extending up to the length of the shell. The color of the shell is bluish-purple or violet, covered by a blackish-olive epidermis. The interior of the shell is deep purple or violet.
