The shell is small, thin, and fragile. It is slightly elongated towards the back and is equivalve. The umbo, or the point at which the two valves meet, is rounded. The outer surface of the shell is sculptured by numerous fine concentric lines, which are lines that circle the shell. The lines are covered by a light brown periostracum. The hinge line is smooth, and the margin of the shell is not crenulated, which means that it is not notched or jagged. The outside of the shell is brown, and the inside of the shell is pearly-white.
