Description:
The creeping rhizome is 0.4–0.8 mm thick, with 1-6 roots and an upright stem that is 1–30 mm tall at each node, with internodes that are 10–53 mm long. Leaves: 6–34 mm long leaf sheaths, 60–166 mm long and 0.4–0.8 mm wide leaf blades, 2-3 leaves per stalk. The midrib is noticeable, enlarging and even splitting at the tip. Both of the subtle intramarginal veins terminate in a little tooth. The mature leaf tips are typically serrated unevenly.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
coastal intertidal area of Bakkhali river estuary, Cox’s Bazar.
