Description:
The plants are a deep reddish-brown hue and grow upright. They repeatedly branch dichotomously at intervals of 1-3 cm, with their branches being sturdy, tubular, and maintaining a consistently slender, cylindrical shape. The holdfast is disc-shaped, and several fronds at the base develop stolon-like extensions. The inner core of the medulla is densely packed with longitudinal filaments measuring 7-15 um in diameter, and there is a broad cortex consisting of 8-12 cells in width, with the inner cells having an ovoid to irregular shape.
