Description:
The base of the stems is approximately thick, and they have a tubular shape with irregular branching, resembling feathers. The stichidia are loosely arranged, and the tetrasporangia are found in whorls. The stems are covered in fine, hair-like branchlets that consist of single rows of cells. The main stems are polysiphonous, with slender, single-siphon filaments surrounding a cortex. The cystocarp has a noticeable opening and a basal spur. These plants can be various shades of color, ranging from pale to dark red-brown.
