Description:
The plants display a color that varies from medium green to dark brown and grow in clustered tufts. The thallus has a dichotomous branching pattern and is characterized by frond-like and ribbon-like structures. They are anchored to their substrate by rhizoidal holdfasts. The axes are flattened, typically measuring between 4 to 8 millimeters in width. They are generally consistent in width throughout, although they may widen as they reach the rolled-up tips. Sporangial sori, which are the structures that produce spores, are elongated and positioned close to and parallel with the lateral margins of the thallus, occurring on both surfaces of the thallus.
