Description:
Young fronds have complete borders, are slender, leafy, and flat. The fronds of older plants have thicker, concave, fan- or funnel-shaped tips with lobed edges. The inner (upper) surface is coated in a thin coating of slime, while the outer (under) surface is banded with zones of olive green, pale, and dark brown and features concentric rows of short, fine hairs. The borders have a tendency to bend inward and both sides are lightly calcified. A potentially matted holdfast holds the blades in place. 10–15 cm. Color: brownish white.
