Description:
The entire body in front of the flippers appears to be very long and virtually conical in the case of the Rough-toothed Dolphin, which is a thin dolphin with a forehead and sides of the head that slope smoothly on to a long and slender beak. Unlike many other dolphins, it lacks a pronounced melon and a seam between the forehead and beak. The length of the flippers is moderate. The dorsal fin is sickle-shaped and comparatively tall. rather tall dorsal fin at sea, with white sides and tips atop a small, pointed beak. When viewed up close, the dolphin’s head seems narrower, emphasizing the eye sockets and giving the appearance of goggle eyes.
