Description:
Medium-sized pale tern with a bill pattern that varies according to location: mostly black with a noticeable yellow tip, but completely yellow in the Caribbean and some regions of South America. During breeding, displays a shaggy black cap; in non-breeding birds, the forehead becomes white.
