Description:
Scales on the thickest part of the body is subquadrangular or hexagonal. It has 8–11 maxillary teeth behind fangs. Head is small, body long and slender anteriorly, posteriorly 2.5 to 3 times thicker than anteriorly. There are one anterior temporal, rarely divided. It has 7–8 upper labials, second in contact with prefrontal, 3–4 border eye. It has grayish to olive color above, yellowish color on below, with 45–65 dark bands, widest dorsally that disappears with age. Color of the head is black or olive, yellow markings on snout and along sides of head.
