Description:
The fish lacks dorsal spines but has 8-9 dorsal soft rays and no anal spines with 9 anal soft rays. It possesses 10 caudal fin rays. In terms of coloration, juveniles are bright yellow with black spots, and as they grow, the spots decrease proportionately, and the bright yellow color turns into a dirty mustard color. In large adults, the coloration becomes bluish with yellowish seams between the plates.
