Description:
The body is very deep and highly compressed, with a depth ranging from 1.0 to 1.4 times the standard length. Adults have a sharp bony projection in front of each eye, which is larger in males. The snout is narrow and strongly protruding. In terms of coloration, the anterior part of the body is white, transitioning to yellow posteriorly. There are two broad black bars: the first nearly encloses the eye in its anterior part and broadens ventrally to include the chest, pelvic fins, and half of the abdomen; the second black bar is on the posterior half of the body, edged posteriorly with white and black lines, and extends into both dorsal and anal fins. Additionally, there is a black-edged orange saddle-like marking on the snout, and the chin is black.
