Description:
D1 X+I/26; D2 absent; P117; P2 I/5; A II/7. Color of body silver-white. Outer two-thirds of spinous portion of dorsal fin blackish. Pectoral, pelvic and anal fins pale yellow. Body moderately elongate; no barbel on chin. Mouth large; oblique. Dorsal fin spines not prolonged. Caudal fin rhomboid. Cycloid scales on head, ctenoid on body.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Inhabits shallow coastal waters, estuaries, and rivers.
