Description:
The fish is characterized by having 13 dorsal spines, 14-16 dorsal soft rays, 2 anal spines, and 12-14 anal soft rays. The body and median fins typically exhibit a brown to nearly black coloration, with the body being paler ventrally. The fins transition to a smoky gray color distally. There is a distinctive pattern on the sides, with the margin of scales featuring a blackish streak, resembling a series of transverse bands. Additionally, there are a few small blue spots scattered on the head and sides. The pelvic and anal fins display a bright blue coloration anteriorly. The lips are dusky brown. The body depth is approximately 1.7-2.2 times the standard length.
