Description:
This species has dorsal rays XII, 9-10; anal rays II, 10-11; pectoral rays 17-18; lateral-line scales 15-16; and a body depth 2.0-2.1 times the standard length. It exhibits a coloration ranging from pale green to light blue, with nesting males displaying yellow color (changing during nesting) and becoming blackish posteriorly.
