Description:
The fish typically has a preorbital width less than the eye diameter, V-shaped vomerine teeth without a medial posterior extension, and a toothless tongue. Scale rows on the back rise obliquely above the lateral line, and there are 20–23 gill rakers on the 1st gill arch. In terms of coloration, the upper part of the head is brownish, while the sides and belly are bright yellow. Additionally, there is a series of five bright blue stripes on the sides, and the fins are yellow.
