Description:
A single dorsal fin stretching from just above the eye to almost the caudal fin, featuring 58–66 rays. Pectoral fins measuring more than half the length of the head. It has a deeply forked caudal fin. The back displays a vivid metallic blue-green color in life, transitioning to grey with a greenish tint after death. The sides exhibit a silvery appearance with a golden sheen and rows of dark spots or golden blotches. Both dorsal and anal fins are black with the anal fin having a white edge.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Pelagic, inhabiting open waters, also found near the coast
