Description:
The body is highly elongated with pointed pectoral fins. In young individuals, the caudal fin is lanceolate with elongated and filamentous middle rays. In adults, it becomes almost truncate. The typical coloration includes a dark longitudinal band on the sides, bordered with white. Juveniles exhibit white upper and lower margins on their fins.
