Description:
There are 6 – 7 dorsal spines. Dorsal soft rays are10 in total. Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 8 – 9. The body exhibits a pale grey color with irregular brown blotches on the cheek, lacking a distinct dark patch covering the top of the head but featuring four dark brown saddles. The caudal fin base displays a diffuse blackish bar and there is a dark wedge-shaped mark on the base of the pectoral fin. The pelvic fins are fully united. Frenum is present and caudal fin is rounded. The longitudinal scale series ranges from 36 to 44 and the scales are strongly ctenoid. The cheek and opercle lack scales.
