Description:
Snout is prominent and somewhat pointed. The mouth is positioned inferiorly. Fine, sharp teeth are arranged in three patches on each side of the palate, typically forming a large triangle. Inner patches are always separated at the midline. The adipose fin is short-based and located posteriorly, and the caudal fin lobes are slender and distinctly tapered. Regarding coloration, the body ranges from greyish blue to fawn, with the back and sides exhibiting iridescent coppery or golden tones.
