Description:
The body is moderately slender and the belly is adorned with 23 to 26 scutes in the front and 11 to 13 in the rear, totaling 34 to 38 scutes. Eye is large and the lower jaw projects. The dorsal fin originates around the midpoint of the body or slightly behind it. The anal fin has its origin below the base of the dorsal fin. The swim bladder features a single long tube that extends back down the right side of the body above the base of the anal fin.
