Description:
The body is elongated and slender with a rounded belly lacking scutes. There are no striae on the posterior part of the scales and the lower limb of the first gill arch has 21–32 gill rakers. In terms of coloration, the back exhibits an iridescent greenish-blue tone, accompanied by a narrow lateral band of silvery grey below. The flanks and abdomen have a silvery-white appearance. Upper surface of the eye and head is emerald-green. The snout is prominently pigmented, while the fins are pale. The caudal fin is dusky with a dark posterior margin.
