Description:
Body is elongated and tube-shaped.The mouth is large with a stronger upper jaw and the snout is more rounded. Eyes are small and the dorsal fin originates approximately over the gill opening. Diameter of the eye is equal to the length of the snout.The posterior nostril is oval and slightly closer to the eye than the tubular anterior nostril. Both dorsal and anal fin rays are unsegmented and there is a flange on the upper lip. The intermaxillary tooth patch is barely visible in front of a closed mouth.Tip of the tail is blunt, short and rigid. The coloration is light brown above and lighter below with the dorsal and anal fins featuring a narrow blackish border and the pectoral fin appearing dusky.
